 Alden Henderson
Student Teacher
Alden has been dancing at Dance Connection since he was six years old and has competed since he was eight. Throughout his dance career, he has taken part in just about every style of dance: tap, jazz, ballet, African, musical theatre, contemporary, and modern.
At the end of sixth grade, Alden moved to Memphis where he began training intensively in ballet technique during the week with Ballet Memphis, but on the weekends he drove home to St. Louis to rehearse all of his dances here at with DCPAC.
As he proceeded to dance competitively, he has earned several awards and scholarships from numerous competitions and conventions at regional and national levels. In his transition to high school, however, he could no longer commute between the two cities, and he began to dance with the Junior Company at Ballet Memphis. While a part of the Junior Company, he took four ballet classes per week and performed in several ballets with lead roles, including The Nutcracker, Match Girl, and Not-So-Ordinary Princess.
In his sophomore year in high school, he returned to DCPAC with a stronger ballet foundation and with an eagerness to once again explore the world of contemporary dance, and he continues to pursue further development in all styles of dance. |
